It has already become a good tradition to celebrate the World Tour Day in Kryvyi Rih, a holiday of an interesting and extraordinary profession, which is an integral part of excursion activities.
For the first time on February 24-th, in 2018, the city event «Fair of Excursions» was held at the shopping mall «Sun Gallery». The organizers of this event were the Economics Department of the Executive Committee of Kryvyi Rih City Council, «Kryvyi Rih City Development Institution» and the shopping mall «Sun Gallery».
The festival was attended by Public Joint Stock Company «Southern Mining Factory», Kryvyі Rih Geological and Mineralogical Museum of Kryvyi Rih National University, the Museum of Aviation History at the Kryvyi Rih College of NAU, the Historic Local Lore Museum of Kryvyi Rih, the Kryvy Rih Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Artini Forge, the TC "Kryivbastur" , NGO "Ukrainian Bike Family", NGO "Community of creative photographers of Kryvorizhya", the travel agency "Kryvyi Rih meridian", well-known ethnologists and tour guides of the city.
The main goal of the event is to promote the tourist potential of Kryvyi Rih to city residents in order to raise awareness and popularize industrial tourism and to prove once again that tourist Kryvyi Rih is not only grey industry but a huge city of colours, incredible landscapes and a powerful cultural center.
During the event, was presented the property of Kryvyi Rih in the direction of development of industrial tourism, the Kryvy Rih museums held an exhibition of Kryvy Rih minerals and a retro-exhibition on industrial topics, PJSC «Southern Mining Factory» with the help of promotional products presented its enterprise.
The «Artini» Forge demonstrated products of blacksmithing art.
The most cognitive and interesting location was «Tour guides of the city», where all interested people could communicate with Kryvyi Rih guides and learn about the excursion routes of Kryvyi Rih: industrial, event, observational, historical, natural, ecological, extreme and others.

There was a demonstration of promos and a presentation of photos of excursions all around Kryvyi Rih in the video game. For the smallest guests of the event there was a children's location, where children had the opportunity to get acquainted with the unique features of the industrial Kryvyi Rih and to paint up machines involved in the industry.
The most active guests of the «Fair of Excursions» could take a part in a tourist tour quiz and get original gifts.
Each participant of the event was able to look into the magic world of industrial landscapes and culture of Kryvyi Rih and received a charge of positive emotions and impressions.
On the second day the celebration were interesting by free excursions for everyone. Everybody could choose «The eternal city» with a guide Ivan Najdenko or «The Legacy of the First Mine» with Anna Lytvynchuk, or «The special operation of the detachment of Shurupov for saving the power plant on the dam of KRES» with an experienced tour guide Lyudmila Pohitun, or «By the eastern heap of the Gleyevatskyi quarry» with the famous guide Volodymyr Ogur.
The tourists learned about the history of the city, the content of the name «Kryvyi Rih», the way of life people who lived there in different historical time, went to the first mine of Kryvyi Rih and went through incredibly impressive colourful dumps of the Gleyevatskyi quarry.
In general, excursions, despite the frosty weather, seemed interesting and exciting for all participants. Evidence of this - positive reviews in social networks and interesting photos.
Consequently, Kryvyi Rih industrial tourism continues to grow actively and to increase its potential!
