On the night from 8th to 9th of September, in 2018, was spent the unique event for the city Kryvyi Rih - a large-scale night festival «Industrial Fest» in the territory of the shopping center «METRO». It was second time for our city.
This event breaks the stereotypes of the routine of industrial cities and turns the industry of our city into a bright sight.
The festival was held with the support of Kryvyi Rih Mayor Iurii Vilkul.
The main organizers of the holiday were the Executive Committee of Kryvyi Rih City Council and PU «Kryvyi Rih City Development Institution». The general partner is METINVEST.
From 7th to 8th of September, all city residents who registered on the official page of the festival on the «Industrial Fest» facebook could enjoy the industrial sceneries of their native city, taking part in excursions.
On September 7th, everybody could see the night scenery of Kryvyi Rih from the height of Burshchytskyi and Petrovskyi dumps, to feel like a blacksmith in the «Artini» forge and to see the unique nature of the landscape preserve «Vizyrka».
From the morning of September 8th, residents and guests of the city visited industrial sites and museums of the enterprises of: PJSC «Ingulets MPP», PJSC «Southern Mining Factory», PJSC «Central MPP», PJSC «North MPP», PJSC «ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih», PJSC «Iron Ore Industrial Complex of Kryvyi Rih» and industrial enterprice «Kryvbasvybukhprom».
In the evening everyone was waiting for a fervent festival Industrial Fest in the territory of the shopping center «METRO». At the festival were functioned several zones.
The solemn opening of the festival «The Night of Industrial Culture» was began from the greetings of Kryvyi Rih Mayor Iurii Vilkul.
«This unique event in our city is being held for the second time and is dedicated to the International Tourism Day, and it is possible to say that Kryvyi Rih is the capital of industrial tourism in Ukraine, and all the presented locations will demonstrate the colourful culture and magnitude of the multifaceted industrial «Cornucopia of your opportunities». Many guests of the festival will open our city from the other side, and the children will be able to see how and where their parents work. Our festival is another opportunity to plunge into the world of the living and working industry of our city and feel its greatness» - said the Mayor.
This year the honored guest at the Department of Tourism and Resorts of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, Oksana Serdiuk visited the Industrial Fest.
« I visited Kryvyi Rih for the first time, I can point out that your city is very green and hospitable, with its feature that it has such industrial objects that you cannot see in other cities of Ukraine, even in Europe and the world» - she said.
The most spectacular location was the exhibition of industrial machinery, which featured a 40-tonne BilAZ model, a pneumatic mining hammer, a drilling rig and others.
People, who loves to make selfie, could take photos with the mini version of the mine «Gigant Glyboka» or near the four-tone wheel of «BilAZ».
The active participation in the festival Industrial Fest was received by the industrial enterprises of Kryviy Rih: Metinvest-Holding, PJSC ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, PJSC «Sukha Balka» and PJSC Iron Ore Industrial Complex of Kryvyi Rih, what presented their stand expositions. A great enthusiasm at the visitors caused the locations where they could see not only the attributes of the professions of a miner and a metallurgist, but also try themselves in this role, to dress their clothes.
Children with great pleasure took part in the firefighting and drilling workshop. The biggest delight at the little guests of the day was the competition of the beyblades, the wall of ART with city landscapes and much more.
One of the highlights of the festival was the location of the «Parade of Professions», which was implemented within the framework of the Public Budget of 2018 year. All interested persons had the opportunity to make a virtual tour through the video of the VR 360 to the industrial enterprises of the city: PJSC «Southern Mining Factory», PJSC «ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih» and PJSC «Iron Ore Industrial Complex of Kryvyi Rih» and learned more about the main production professions, including the driver of BilAZ, steelmaker, roller bearings.
Were held various exhibitions: Museum of Geology and Mineralogy, the «Artini» and «Art Metal Work», the Kryvyi Rih stones, the confectionery and souvenir products, the hand-made, the «Industry through the time» from the Municipal Local History Museum, «Kryviy Rih in the space and time» from the city library for adults, author's works from small talented artists «Industrial palette», photo exhibition «The view through the time» from PJSC «ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih» and others.
In addition, all interested persons could participate in various master classes in welding, industrial botany, natural stone paintings, wood carving, body art, industrial mountaineering, sand animation from the animation studio «Sand Tale» and many other interesting things.
Locations were presented by higher educational institutions of Kryvyi Rih, which surprised the visitors of the Industrial Fest with their creativity and unordinary character.
During the whole concert program, the conductors held interesting contests-quizzes on industrial topics and presented memorable souvenirs for active winners.
Viktoriia Tsyganok, Agata Vilchyk, animation studio «Sand Tale», the theatre «Academy of Moving», fire-show «Astrix», «Verry the Jerry» and Pernatyi Zmii shared their work with visitors of «Industrial Fest».
The real drive and flame added headliners of the festival - the group «Sinoptik»!
