International Tourist Guide Day in Kryvyi Rih

The celebration program included two components : a meeting with presentations of the developed city excursion tours and all interested were invited to the bus excursion "Kryvyi Rih is a city of contrasts."

Despite the specificity of the event and celebration on week day there were many people eager to take part at the celebration of International Tourist Guide Day Krivoy Rog – they were students, employees, and retirees (about 150 people).

The meeting was opened by Poltavets Andrew, a Deputy Mayor, who emphasized the importance of tourism industry development for Kryvyi Rih Krivoy Rog and prospects of using the powerful industry in a completely new way - as tourism sites.

The presentations by local guides (Kazakov Volodymyr, Dvorchuk Edward, Dubov Denis, Kilimchuk Anton Naidenko Ivan, Konkov Kirill, Kozlov Gleb) for many of attendees turned to be real discoveries of incredibly beautiful and unique places of Kryvyi Rih. "The very important is close to you" – it is a summary of participants' impressions, because they found that one can see in Kryvyi Rih the Martian landscapes, make a fascinating tour by canoe, try yourself as a diver, cyclist, climber and even stone cutter. This is not a complete list of all the charms of our hometown, which includes both objects of old industry and man-made picturesque landscapes and modern industry capacities.

To see with one's own eyes the touristm attraction of Kryvyi Rih as well as guides' charisma and professionalism the participants has an opportunity while the excursion "Kryvyi Rih is a city of contrasts."

The route included visiting the mining giant – an open pit of PJSC "Southern Mining and Concentration Complex" and walk along the historic district of the city.

3 hours of exciting journey left no one indifferent and it is best evidenced by the tourists' feedbacks (see. below). Many people discovered unknown pages of Kryvyi Rih history, imbibed interesting information and had a new perception of the hometown so well-known and unknown at the same time.

Celebrating the International Tourist Guide Day was one more step towards focusing the public opinion on the importance of tourism in Kryvyi Rih and uniting efforts for achieving the key goal - transformation of the city into the industrial tourism center.
